Including PrepStep for Community Colleges in your Blackboard course

PrepStep for Colleges in Blackboard

PrepStep for Colleges contains a wide range of resources that are useful to students. Tutorial and practice material in English, Math and Basic Science, and Computer Skills as well as Student Success and Career Prep materials for many fields.

Instead of directing students needing additional support to PrepStep for Colleges on the Library’s main page, put PrepStep tutorials or practice exercises directly into your Blackboard class. You can include them as exercises where you can review their usage or include them as graded or extra credit items.

Each specific tutorial, exercise set, or ebook must be included individually into a content area. Follow these steps.

  1. Create a new content area or integrate them into a pre-existing content area. Select EBSCO LearningExpress (the name of the larger corporate entity behind PrepStep) from the Build Content dropdown list.

Shows the EBSCO LearningExpress tool under the Build Content tab

  1. Give it a name and select the options that you want – whether or not to make it a graded assignment, if you want it available only for a specified period of time, etc. Click submit.
  2. Click on the title of the new content. LearningExpress will open.
  3. Select the learning center, category and sub-category for the tutorial, exercises or ebook.
