Reading Lists: A Practical Guide

Create and Structure Your Reading List

Create the List

Click on Reading List.

Select Create New List.

(You can also as the library to create and structure the list for you. Click on Ask Your Library to Create Your List. Send a file listing all the items you want on your list to the library through the portal.)

Click on Create New List

Give your list a name (and description).

Provide a name (and description if desired)

Structure Your List

Select either "default", which opens a single section called Resources to which more sections can be added, or "Weeks" as an overall structure.

Select either Default or Weeks and click Create List

Click Create List.

Create a List in Leganto

You can also create a list directly in Leganto.

This enables you to develop a list prior to course shells being created or to create a list for use by a group of instructors that prevents you having to share the list individually with each one. You can also add to the list in one place and trust everyone will get the updates.

The other instructors can simply Link to the list instead of Creating a New List.

Using a Leganto-created list in Canvas

You, or the instructors also using the list, simply click Select Existing List.

Link to a list created in Leganto to bring it into Canvas.

In Leganto, other instructors would click Search.

Click Search to switch search location

Select All Lists to search for the correct list by title.

Choose All Lists and then search by title for the course.

And clink Link Course to this Link.

Click Link Course to this List
