DACC Library Summer Reading Challenge Information

Remember the excitement of being a kid and reading books all summer to earn prizes?

Remember taking summer road trips to visit family, friends, or just to see a cool place?

Well, the DACC Library is bringing both traditions back to you with a Choose-Your-Adventure Summer Reading Road Trip!

How to Play:

  • Register for the program by completing the very short form at https://tinyurl.com/2025DACCSummerReading
  • After you register, we will email you a participant packet and Road Trip tracking sheet to print.
  • Have fun choosing titles and reading all summer long! (The program runs from May 1st to September 3rd.)
  • Track your reading on the Choose-Your-Adventure 2025 DACC Summer Reading Road Trip tracking sheet.
    • For each road trip, you’ll have 8 decisions (1-8) to make (i.e., books to read), with 3 choices (A,B,C) per decision, to complete your Road Trip Adventure!
    • You can complete up to 3 different road trips for the DACC Summer Reading Challenge prize drawings.
    • You may use the same choice (A,B,C) for a decision (1-8) across different road trips, but for a greater challenge try reading a different choice for each decision on each road trip! (see example)
    • You must read a unique book for each choice (A,B,C) on each road trip.  You will not be allowed to satisfy more than one choice on any road trip with the same title.

How to Win:

  • 1st Road Trip: Complete one road trip by finishing a title in each decision (8 unique books total) and email it to the DACC Library to be entered in a drawing for a $50 Amazon Gift Card.
  • 2nd Road Trip: Complete another road trip by finishing a second title in each decision (an additional 8 books for a total of 16 unique books read) and email it to the DACC Library to be entered in a drawing for a $75 Amazon Gift Card.
  • 3rd Road Trip: Complete the whole adventure (an additional 8 books for a total of 24 unique books read) and email it to the DACC Library to be entered in a drawing to win the Grand Prize of a $100 Amazon Gift Card.

Don't forget about I-Share requests!

When you're searching in the DACC Library online catalog (EasyShare) and a title displays as Out of the Library/Unavailable or isn't found at all...check out the Get It From Other I-Share Libraries option OR switch over to search in All I-Share Libraries to see if it's available at another institution in our library network.

If so, you can request the book and have it sent to the DACC Library for pick up!

Some of the suggestions we've noted in this LibGuide for each road trip choice are available through I-Share, and getting them is super easy!

  • Just click the link by the suggestion
  • Sign In to your Library account

  • A help guide with screen shots and instructions can be found here: I-Share Request Instructions!

And the Libby App!
