Finding Journals in Your Subject Area

In addition to using the limiting tools within 1Search to identify journals in your field of interest, these links can provide additional strategies to get at this information:

Wikipedia's Lists of Academic Journals
Wikipedia's list identifies scholarly journals by subject area and sub-specialty (if applicable). It also links to the Wikipedia entries on the journals (if available) so that you can get more information.

Lists should not be regarded as comprehensive, but do a decent job of hitting the major titles in fields that they cover. But not all fields are included (agriculture and business are barely present and must be found indirectly via other headings).
Google Scholar Metrics
The h-factor metrics of Google Scholar help you identify those journals that researchers are citing from most frequently. This is one measure of what makes journals significant in a field. Click the drop-down arrow by Categories and pick one. Then click on Subcategories and select.
